Network and Wi-Fi

Get Node One onto the local network and know what continues without internet.

Join Wi-Fi during setup

Node One scans for nearby Wi-Fi networks. Choose your network from the list and enter its password. The setup flow does not ask you to type a hidden network name.

  • 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz home Wi-Fi are supported.
  • The temporary Node setup network itself uses 2.4 GHz.
  • Your phone briefly disconnecting during the switch to home Wi-Fi is normal.

If the password is wrong

  1. 1

    Wait for the setup network

Node One brings its setup network back after a failed join.

  2. 2

    Open the retry page

The page explains that the join failed and offers a careful retry.

  3. 3

    Choose Wi-Fi again

Select the network from the live scan and re-enter the password.

Ethernet fallback

If a working Ethernet cable is connected, Node One detects the connection and can skip the Wi-Fi step. There is no separate Ethernet setup screen.

Changing networks later

Network changes are intentionally handled at the box so another device on the network cannot silently move the monitor that watches your tank.

No internet

Local dashboard readings, history, and alerts keep working. Cloud-backed integrations and selected Reef Trak syncing wait for the internet connection to return.
