What is included

Every current Node One package includes the following core items:

  • Node One with a 7-inch touchscreen, or Node One XL with a 10.1-inch touchscreen
  • Power supply
  • One TP-Link Tapo smart plug
  • One Reef Trak Premium lifetime redemption code

Before you begin

  • Have your home Wi-Fi name and password ready.
  • For the current guided setup, install Reef Trak on a phone, sign in, and have the app ready to create a pairing code.
  • Power on the reef equipment you want Node One to find and connect it to the same home network.
  • Keep the Matter setup code printed on the included Tapo plug nearby.

Power on Node One

  1. 1

    Connect power

Connect the supplied power supply to Node One, then plug it into the wall.

  2. 2

    Wait for Node OS

The screen shows the Node One splash and then opens the dashboard.

  3. 3

Open setup on a phone or computer

The guided setup pages run in a browser on your phone or computer. The Node One display itself opens the dashboard.

Complete guided setup

  1. 1

    Welcome

    Select Get started.

  2. 2

    Join Wi-Fi

Choose your Wi-Fi, enter the password, and follow the switch-over card. Your phone briefly losing the Node setup network is normal.

  3. 3

    Link the companion

In Reef Trak, create a pairing code. Enter it on Link it to Reef Trak, then select Link and continue.

  4. 4

    Find equipment

On Finding your equipment, wait for your devices to appear, then select These are mine, keep going.

  5. 5

    Choose what leaves home

On Choose what to monitor, select the readings you want shared with Reef Trak. The running count shows exactly how many will be sent.

  6. 6

    Name devices

Give each device a useful name, then select Finish setup.

  7. 7

    Open the dashboard

When Your reef is online. appears, select Open your Command Center.

Add the included Tapo plug

  1. 1

    Open Add Equipment

From the Node tab, select Add Equipment.

  2. 2

    Choose Matter

    Select Add a Matter device.

  3. 3

    Enter the code

Type the setup code printed on the plug. Node One adopts it over Bluetooth and shows a five-step progress ladder.

  4. 4

    Reset and retry if needed

If adoption fails, hold the plug button for about 10 seconds to return it to setup mode, then retry.

Shut down safely

Node One has no physical power switch. Always shut down Node OS before unplugging it.

  1. 1

    Open power controls

Select the power button in the dashboard header.

  2. 2

    Choose Shut down

Confirm Shut down and wait for Safe to unplug.

  3. 3

    Disconnect power

Unplug Node One only after the safe-to-unplug message appears. To turn it on again, plug it back in.
