Overview
Every current Node One package includes a TP-Link Tapo Matter smart plug. Node One adopts it locally with the printed setup code and then reads available power and energy information.
Requirements
- A Matter smart plug supported by the current Node OS build.
- The Matter setup code printed on the plug or its card.
- Bluetooth range during adoption and Wi-Fi coverage at the final outlet.
Connect
- 1
Put the plug in setup mode
For a previously used plug, hold its button for about 10 seconds until it resets.
- 2
Open Add a Matter device
Go to Add Equipment and choose the Matter path.
- 3
Enter the setup code
Type the code exactly as printed.
- 4
Follow the ladder
Keep the plug powered while Node One completes the five adoption stages.
What Node One can read
- On and off state where reported.
- Live power and accumulated energy where supported.
- Local Tapo energy metering on the verified in-box path.
Control
Node One does not switch the plug. The plug provides monitoring context only in Node OS.
Troubleshooting
- Reset a previously commissioned plug before retrying.
- Keep the plug within Bluetooth range during setup.
- Confirm the destination outlet has reliable Wi-Fi.
Remove
Open the device page, select Remove..., then Tap again to remove. A removed Matter device returns to setup mode.
