Node One FAQ
Is Node One a tablet?
No. Node One is a dedicated reef monitoring computer with its own always-on Node OS software and display.
Does Node One require Reef Trak?
The current guided setup links Node One to a Reef Trak account with a one-time code. After setup, Node One monitors and stores local history at home even when the internet is unavailable. Reef Trak is the companion for selected remote readings, water-test history, and other extended context.
Is there a subscription?
No subscription is required for Node One. Every current unit includes a Reef Trak Premium lifetime redemption code for the companion platform.
Can Node One control my equipment?
No. Node OS monitors supported equipment and readings but does not switch equipment on or off. Manufacturer apps and the separate advanced environment can have their own controls.
What happens when the internet is down?
Local monitoring, dashboard history, and alerts continue. Cloud-backed integrations and selected companion syncing resume after the connection returns.
Can one Node One work with multiple tanks?
Node One can be aware of more than one paired tank. In the current browser dashboard, switching tanks changes the selected header name but does not yet filter every card by tank.
Can I wall-mount Node One?
Mounting details depend on the final production hardware for your model. Use only approved hardware supplied or documented for that unit.
Are updates automatic?
No. Updates are offered, never forced. You choose the maintenance window.
Does Node One send my camera images to Reef Trak?
No. Camera images are not part of the selected reading sync. Owner camera setup is not a documented shipping feature yet.
