Monitoring and Privacy

Node One watches locally and gives you a clear choice about what leaves home.

Node One watches

Node One monitors supported equipment and readings. Node OS does not switch equipment on or off.

Choose what leaves home

During setup, Choose what to monitor gives every reading its own checkbox. The running count shows exactly how many readings will be sent to Reef Trak.

  • Only selected readings are sent.
  • The device names you assign can accompany those readings.
  • Camera images, passwords, and network details are not sent to Reef Trak.
  • Unselected readings stay local.

Local operation

Dashboard readings, local history, and alerts continue at home when the internet is unavailable. Selected companion syncing queues and resumes after the connection returns.

What is underneath

Node One runs on Home Assistant, the open platform used by many home devices, while Node OS provides the reef-specific owner experience. The Advanced door exists for experts. Your hardware and local data are not locked into a proprietary cloud-only display.
