Appearance

A small, elongated basslet with a bicolor body: deep purple to dark violet on the anterior half and upper body, transitioning to bright yellow-orange on the posterior half and lower abdomen. The head and gill area are typically darker purple, and the dorsal fin shows both purple and yellow coloration.

Diet and feeding

Feed small meaty foods including mysis shrimp, bloodworms, small frozen copepods, and quality marine flake formulas designed for small carnivores. Offer live copepods or amphipods periodically to encourage natural feeding behavior.
