Appearance

Small, slender basslet with distinctive vertical purple or dark bands on a pale yellow to whitish body. The head and gill covers display prominent banding, and the fish has a streamlined body shape typical of deep-reef dwellers.

Diet and feeding

Feed small meaty foods including frozen mysis shrimp, copepods, and small prepared carnivore pellets. Offer food in small amounts multiple times daily, as these deep-reef specialists are accustomed to frequent small meals in the wild.
