Appearance
A small, laterally compressed damselfish with a striking yellow-olive body and prominent black vertical stripes on the head and body. The tail is deeply forked and black, with distinctive white or pale spots along the upper and lower lobes, giving it the "scissortail" common name.
Diet and feeding
In the aquarium, feed a varied diet of high-quality flaked foods, small pellets, and small frozen foods such as mysis shrimp and copepods. Offer multiple small feedings daily to match natural grazing behavior. Occasional vegetable matter is beneficial.
