Appearance

Hypsypops rubicunda is a strikingly brilliant orange-red damsel with an oblong, robust body. The entire body is uniformly bright orange-red, distinguishing it clearly from other Pacific damsels.

Diet and feeding

In the aquarium, offer a varied diet of high-quality omnivore pellets, frozen mysis shrimp, small crustaceans, and vegetable matter (nori or spirulina). Feed 2–3 times daily in quantities they will consume in a few minutes.
