Appearance

A small damselfish with a honey-yellow to golden head and upper body, transitioning to dark blue or black posteriorly. The head coloration is distinctive and gives the species its common name; body shape is typical of pomacentrids with a compressed profile.

Diet and feeding

Feed a varied diet of high-quality flake food, small pellets, and frozen microfauna (copepods, amphipods, brine shrimp). Supplement with occasional vegetable matter. Feed 2–3 times daily in small portions.
