Appearance

Small grouper with a bold harlequin pattern of alternating vertical orange and black/brown stripes on the body. The head and gill covers are similarly striped, and the dorsal fin has alternating stripe bands, creating a striking and unmistakable appearance.

Diet and feeding

Serranus tigrinus diet includes fish, shrimp, and squid in the wild. In aquariums, it feeds on marine fish, mysis shrimp, and krill.
