Diet and feeding

Turbo snails are voracious algae grazers, consuming diatoms, green algae, and detritus. They prefer established tanks with abundant microalgae and will accept algae wafers if natural food is scarce.

Origin and habitat

Indo-Pacific region, including the Great Barrier Reef and surrounding coral reef systems.

• Excellent algae grazer for controlling film and filamentous algae on rocks and substrate • Minimum 30 gallon tank recommended; larger tanks provide more foraging area and stability • Maintain temperature 72–78°F, pH 8.1–8.4, and salinity 1.023–1.026 • Nocturnal herbivore; feeds primarily on microalgae; supplement with dried seaweed if algae is scarce • Hardy and easy to care for; ensure strong water flow and stable conditions to prevent stress
