Diet and feeding

Herbivorous grazers that consume algae and microorganisms from rocks and substrate. Supplement with blanched vegetables if algae is scarce.

Origin and habitat

Indo-Pacific and Atlantic tropical and temperate reefs, with various chiton species distributed globally in shallow to deep marine environments.
