Keeper notes

Lays pink/white egg clutches above the waterline; needs an air gap above the water and a male and female to reproduce. The popular peaceful apple snail, sold in gold, blue, ivory, and black; generally plant-safe but a big eater that will browse soft or dying plants and needs supplemental feeding. Requires hard, alkaline water with adequate calcium for shell health, and an air gap above the waterline (it breathes air and lays eggs above water). Copper sensitive — no copper meds. Provide plenty of food to prevent it grazing healthy plants.
