Keeper notes
Breeds slowly in freshwater, laying single eggs; population stays low and controllable. A predatory snail used to control pest-snail outbreaks; it hunts and eats other snails but ignores fish, shrimp adults are usually safe though tiny shrimplets may be at risk. Plant-safe and undemanding in hard, alkaline water; supplement with protein/frozen foods once pest snails run low. Copper sensitive — avoid copper meds. Breeds slowly, so it won't itself become a pest.
