Keeper notes
Hermaphroditic and breeds explosively in freshwater; commonly considered a pest hitchhiker. A tiny, extremely hardy snail that usually arrives as a hitchhiker on plants and is often treated as a pest because it multiplies rapidly when food is abundant. It is plant-safe and a useful detritus/algae cleaner, with numbers controlled by limiting excess food rather than chemicals. Copper sensitive — no copper meds. Tolerates a very wide range of conditions.
