Keeper notes

Breeds readily in freshwater; highly prolific and a known invasive — never release into the wild. The common red swamp crayfish, extremely hardy and adaptable but aggressive and destructive; it eats plants and preys on fish, shrimp, and snails, so keep it alone or with only fast surface fish. Provide a large tank, caves, hard alkaline water, calcium for molting, and a tight lid since it escapes readily. It is a notorious invasive species — never release it. Copper sensitive — no copper meds.
