Appearance
A medium-sized angelfish with predominantly dark blue to blue-black coloration on the body and head. The tail (caudal fin) is distinctively yellow or golden-yellow, providing the species' common name. The body displays subtle vertical barring or banding patterns, and the dorsal and anal fins are edged in lighter colors.
Diet and feeding
In captivity, feed high-quality angelfish pellets, frozen mysis shrimp, and marine vegetation such as spirulina or nori sheets. Offer food 1–2 times daily in varied portions to maintain health and coloration.
