Appearance

A yellowish-tan body with distinctive dark blotches or saddle marks, particularly prominent on the dorsal region. The body is moderately compressed with a rabbit-like snout and venomous spines in the dorsal and anal fins.

Diet and feeding

Primarily herbivorous, grazing on algae and macroalgae. In captivity, offer high-quality dried seaweed, nori sheets, spirulina-based foods, and occasional blanched vegetables like spinach. Supplement with quality herbivore pellets formulated for grazing fish.
