Appearance

Small, compressed body with yellow-green coloration and alternating blue and yellow horizontal stripes. Distinctive venomous spines on dorsal and anal fins; resembles other rabbitfish but remains notably petite and delicately marked.

Diet and feeding

Primarily grazes on macroalgae and microalgae in reef environments. In captivity, feed high-quality vegetable-based flake foods, nori sheets, and spirulina supplements several times daily. Occasional meaty supplements (small amounts of mysis shrimp) are tolerated but should not dominate the diet.
