Appearance

A stocky, disc-shaped fish with yellowish-brown body coloration and distinctive bright blue spots scattered across the head and body. Venomous spines are present on the dorsal and anal fins.

Diet and feeding

Primarily herbivorous, feeding on macroalgae and filamentous algae in the wild. In captivity, provide high-quality dried seaweed, marine algae sheets, and herbivorous pellets daily. Supplement with fresh or frozen vegetable matter such as blanched spinach.
