Quick facts
Appearance
Centropyge abei is a small, disc-shaped angelfish with vibrant vertical yellow and dark blue-black bands running across its body. The head and gill covers are predominantly yellow with dark striping, and the pectoral fins are transparent to pale yellow. Adults reach approximately 5.5 inches and display the characteristic compact body shape of dwarf angelfish in the genus Centropyge.
Diet and feeding
Feed a varied diet of high-quality marine flakes, small pellets, and frozen foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. Supplement with vegetable matter including spirulina and nori sheets. Feed 2–3 times daily in small amounts the fish can consume within a few minutes.
