Appearance
Watanabe's Angelfish is a deep-bodied pomacanthid with striking golden-yellow coloration on the head and anterior body, transitioning to deep blue or indigo on the posterior body and tail. Adults display a distinctive vertical yellow band or stripe pattern, and the dorsal and anal fins are edged in blue. This species exhibits sexual dichromatism, with males and females showing subtle color differences.
Diet and feeding
In captivity, feed high-quality frozen or prepared foods including mysis shrimp, quality sponge-based preparations, and omnivore pellets. Supplement with spirulina and vegetable matter. Feed 2–3 times daily in appropriate portions.
