Appearance

Striking blue and yellow/orange vertical striped pattern covering the entire body and fins. Elongated, compressed body with a small, pointed snout and high dorsal fin; the second dorsal spine is distinctly elongated.

Diet and feeding

Primarily a planktivore and detritivore in the wild, feeding on small crustaceans and organic debris. In captivity, provide quality frozen mysis shrimp, finely chopped seafood, and specialty planktivore or angelfish pellets multiple times daily. Slow eater—feed in a dedicated area away from aggressive competitors.
