Appearance
Redlip Parrotfish display vibrant coloration with greenish-blue body, red/orange lips, and occasional red-violet markings on the head and gill covers. The distinctive parrot-like beak, formed by fused pharyngeal teeth, is characteristic of all parrotfish.
Diet and feeding
Seaweed, small crustaceans (mysid shrimp), fish eggs, and coral polyps in the wild. In aquariums: marine algae, mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and frozen seafood for variety.
