Appearance
A small, deep-bodied angelfish with predominantly yellow coloration on the head and body, interrupted by vertical dark blue or black bars that give it its species name. It has a blue-ringed eye and blue markings along the gill covers and fins. Adults typically reach 3 inches.
Diet and feeding
Offer high-quality marine flaked food supplemented with small frozen prey items (mysis shrimp, brine shrimp) 2–3 times daily. Include occasional vegetable matter or macroalgae. Feed in small portions to avoid water quality degradation.
