Appearance
A small dwarf angelfish with a bright yellow body and distinctive blue-ringed spots or "eye-spots" covering the head, body, and dorsal fin. The mouth and gill plates may display orange-yellow coloration. The body is disc-shaped and laterally compressed, typical of the genus Centropyge.
Diet and feeding
In captivity, offer a varied diet including high-quality omnivore pellets, dried seaweed (nori), frozen mysis shrimp, and spirulina-based foods. Feed 2–3 times daily in small portions. This species naturally feeds on algae, small crustaceans, and sponges on the reef.
Difficulty and care for the Golden-spotted Angelfish
Moderate difficulty. While hardy and adaptable once established, they require excellent water quality, a varied diet, and careful tank mates to avoid aggression. Susceptible to parasites if stressed.

Origin and habitat
Indo-Pacific from the Red Sea and East Africa through Indonesia to the Philippines and Great Barrier Reef. Found on coral reef slopes and rubble areas at depths of 20–100 meters.
