Appearance
Brilliantly colored in shades of orange and golden yellow with fine striping, elongated body shape, and prominent dorsal fin. Males are deeper orange; females are lighter yellow-orange. Small, graceful serranid with pointed snout.
Diet and feeding
Feeds primarily on zooplankton and small crustaceans in the wild. In captivity, provide high-quality frozen foods such as mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, and quality micro-pellets designed for plankton feeders 2–3 times daily.
