Appearance
Small, slender serranid with distinctive vertical blue-purple and white bands running across its body. The head and anterior body are predominantly blue-purple with white striping; maximum adult size is approximately 3 inches.
Diet and feeding
Feed small meaty foods including mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, and finely minced fish flesh. In the wild, they hunt small crustaceans and fish. High-quality frozen preparations are standard in captivity.

Moderate - Requires some experience due to specific dietary water or tank requirements. Best suited for intermediate aquarists.
