Appearance
A striking small angelfish with a deep orange-red body contrasting sharply with a blue-violet rear third and blue accent marks on the gill covers and mouth. The body is laterally compressed with a small, rounded head and dorsal fin extending toward the tail. Adults typically reach 5 inches.
Diet and feeding
Omnivorous feeder requiring a varied diet of high-quality marine flakes, pellets, and frequent offerings of small crustaceans (frozen mysis shrimp, copepods, brine shrimp) and vegetable matter (marine algae, spirulina). Feed 2–3 times daily in small amounts.
