Appearance
Cooper's Fairy Basslet is a small, slender serranid with vibrant coloration: a deep magenta or purple body with yellow-orange markings on the head and dorsal fin, and a distinctive yellow band along the lateral line. Body shape is streamlined and laterally compressed, typical of deepwater planktivorous basslets.
