Appearance

Collett's Basslet is a small, deep-bodied fish with striking coloration: the head and anterior body are bright orange-red, while the posterior two-thirds transition to deep purple or violet. The body is compressed laterally with a rounded head and terminal mouth.

Diet and feeding

Feed high-quality meaty foods including frozen mysis shrimp, frozen copepods, and small frozen fish preparations. Offer fresh or thawed frozen foods rather than dry pellets. Feed 1-2 times daily in appropriate portions.
