Appearance

A robust triggerfish with a dark or blackish belly contrasting with a lighter upper body and yellow-tinted fins. The species has the characteristic deep, compressed body shape of triggers, with a large head and prominent teeth for crushing hard-shelled prey.

Diet and feeding

Feed a varied carnivorous diet including frozen seafood (shrimp, squid, fish), quality pellets, and hard-bodied live foods like snails and crustaceans to naturally wear down continuously-growing teeth. Feed 1-2 times daily.
