Carnivorous scavengers that feed on meaty foods including frozen shrimp, fish, and clams. They prefer live prey when available and will hunt actively at night.
Origin and habitat
Indo-Pacific region from Indonesia to the Philippines and the Great Barrier Reef.

• Minimum 75 gallon tank • Requires rocky caves and crevices for shelter and nocturnal hiding • Maintain temperature 72–78°F with stable salinity 1.023–1.025 and pH 8.1–8.3 • Feed meaty foods including frozen shrimp, small fish, and marine flakes • Generally nocturnal; may prey on small fish, shrimp, and delicate invertebrates at night
