Diet and feeding

Carnivorous; feeds on small fish, crustaceans, and zooplankton. Supplements from fish food scraps and photosynthesis via symbiotic zooxanthellae.

Origin and habitat

Indo-Pacific from the Red Sea to Australia and the Hawaiian Islands, typically found in shallow coral reef environments.
