Appearance

The Yellow Hawkfish is predominantly bright yellow to golden in coloration with a robust, somewhat compressed body typical of cirrhitids. It features prominent pectoral fins with cirri (filamentous extensions) and a slightly underslung mouth adapted for bottom feeding.
