Appearance

A small, stocky hawkfish with reddish-orange to bright red coloration marked by distinctive dark red or black reticulated (web-like) bands. The signature feature is a dark band running through the eye, resembling an arc or crescent.

Diet and feeding

Feed small live or frozen meaty foods such as mysid shrimp, small fish pieces, and copepods. The Arc-Eye is an ambush predator and will accept most high-quality frozen carnivorous preparations in captivity.
