Appearance
Small, elongated body with prominent pectoral fins bearing cirri (whisker-like appendages). Coloration ranges from tan to reddish-brown with distinctive red spots and blotches throughout the body, particularly on the head and flanks.
Difficulty and care for the Caribbean Redspotted Hawkfish
Moderately difficult; requires live rock for perching behavior, stable water conditions (72–78 °F, pH 8.1–8.3, SG 1.023–1.025), and frequent small meals of meaty foods. Hardy once acclimated but can be territorial and demand specific feeding protocols.

Western Atlantic from Florida and the Caribbean to South America, including reefs around the Caribbean islands and Gulf of Mexico.
