Appearance
A small, elongated basslet with reddish-purple to orange body coloration and distinctive yellow or orange edges on the dorsal and anal fins. The eye is prominent and the mouth terminal; body shape is typical of deep-reef cryptic serranids.
Diet and feeding
Feed small meaty foods including frozen mysis shrimp, small pieces of silversides, and quality micro-pellets. Offer food 2–3 times daily in small portions. May be slow to acclimate and initially reluctant to feed in the open; feed during low-light periods if the fish remains shy.
