Appearance
Small anthias reaching 3.5 inches, with orange-red coloration on the head and upper body grading to pink-red below. Males display more vivid coloring and elongated dorsal fin rays; females are duller. Fusiform body typical of Serranidae.
Diet and feeding
Planktivore in nature; feed frozen mysis shrimp, copepods, and small prepared foods designed for anthias. Multiple feedings daily mimic natural grazing behavior. Offer variety to maintain color and health.
