Appearance

Silvery disc-shaped body with dark vertical bars and a small mouth. Juveniles display brown and white striping that fades to silvery-gray with age; the dorsal and anal fins are elongated and sail-like.

Feed a varied diet of high-quality omnivorous foods including frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and herbivorous preparations. Offer foods 2-3 times daily in small portions to match their natural grazing behavior.
