Appearance

Elongated, slender body with a dorsal spine; bright yellow or orange body with numerous black stripes; conspicuous red or blue crest on head and dorsal fin.

Diet and feeding

Zooplankton, small crustaceans (such as mysid shrimp), and small fish (like sardines) in the wild. In aquariums, brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and prepared marine-based fish foods are typically fed to Pterois andover.
