Appearance
A stout, mottled hawkfish with a robust body tapering toward the tail. Coloration ranges from russet-brown to gray with darker mottling and reticulated patterns. The dorsal fin exhibits distinctive cirri (tentacle-like filaments) on each spine, and the pectoral fins are large and fan-like, used for perching on rocks and corals.
Diet and feeding
Feed mysis shrimp, bloodworms, small fish pieces, and quality marine flakes. This species readily accepts frozen and prepared foods. Feed 2–3 times daily in portions the fish can consume within a few minutes.

Moderate - Requires some experience due to specific dietary water or tank requirements. Best suited for intermediate aquarists.
