Appearance

Stellate Dragonet is a small, vibrantly colored fish with orange-red body and bright blue markings on the head, gill covers, and fins. The body is elongated with a flattened ventral profile and a characteristic beak-like mouth, with large pectoral fins used for hovering close to the substrate.

Diet and feeding

Feed primarily small live or frozen foods including copepods, amphipods, mysis shrimp, and other small crustaceans. These fish are selective microcarnivores and may refuse prepared foods; a refugium with established populations of copepods and amphipods is highly beneficial.
