Appearance
A cylindrical, snake-like eel with a tan to brown body covered in dark spots or mottling. The head is relatively small with a pointed snout and no pectoral fins, giving it a streamlined appearance typical of burrowing congrid eels.
Diet and feeding
Feeds on small fish, crustaceans, and meaty foods in captivity. Offer frozen-thawed or live prey such as small silversides, shrimp, and krill. Feed 1-2 times daily or every other day depending on size and appetite.
