Appearance
Small, stocky fish with six dark vertical bands on a pale tan to reddish body. Features prominent cirri (hair-like filaments) above the eyes and along the dorsal fin; the body shape is robust and the mouth is notably large for capturing small prey.
Diet and feeding
Feed small meaty foods including frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. Live small crustaceans are readily consumed. Supplement with high-quality carnivorous pellets designed for small fish.
