Appearance
A small, slender basslet with a deep red to orange body marked by characteristic thin white or pale-pink longitudinal stripes running the length of the body. The fins are typically reddish, and the overall coloration is a striking red-on-white striped pattern.
Diet and feeding
Feed small meaty foods including frozen copepods, small mysis shrimp, and finely chopped marine flesh. Offer 2–3 times daily in small portions. This deep-water species prefers frequent small meals mimicking natural deep-sea plankton feeding.
