Appearance

A small, vibrant basslet with a bright red or orange-red body, often with yellow or white stripes or bars along the flanks. The head and upper body are deep red, and the fish displays a compressed, streamlined body shape typical of serranid basslets.

Diet and feeding

Feed small frozen foods such as mysis shrimp, copepods, and finely chopped preparations designed for small fish. Accepts prepared carnivorous pellets. Feed 2–3 times daily in small portions.
