Appearance

A small, stocky fish with a blunt head and dark coloration, typically brown to reddish-brown with subtle patterns. Distinctive bright blue rings encircle the eye, and the dorsal and anal fins are edged in blue or violet.

Diet and feeding

Feeds primarily on small crustaceans, copepods, and small fish in the wild. In captivity, offer high-quality frozen foods like mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood, supplemented with small live foods if available.
