Appearance

The Long-jawed Squirrelfish has a distinctive elongated snout that gives it its common name. It displays reddish-pink coloration on the body with silvery sides, and exhibits the characteristic large eyes typical of nocturnal squirrelfishes. The dorsal fin is distinctly notched, and fine vertical stripes may be visible along the body.

Diet and feeding

Feed a varied diet of meaty foods including frozen mysis shrimp, small pieces of fresh fish, and quality frozen carnivore preparations. Feed 2–3 times daily in small portions that the fish can consume quickly.
